The West Des Moines Lacrosse Club (WDMLAX) offers programs for boy and girls at youth, middle school, and high school age groups. The club is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization, and strives to provide players with the best coaching, facilities, and competition available. WDMLAX is a member of several leagues based on the gender and age of the players. We welcome players from West Des Moines, Clive, Urbandale, Des Moines Public, Carlisle and Norwalk schools in central Iowa. Regardless of whether you've played the game before, you are welcome to join our club or join us for a practice to see if you like the sport. We are not affiliated or sponsored by a school district; however, we utilize West Des Moines School District facilities and thank them for their support to grow the sport of lacrosse in Iowa.
Local Opportunities to try Lacrosse
We are hosting a Try Lacrosse event in coordination with West Des Moines Parks & Recreation on August 18th and 20th. Below is the link for registration. Event will take place at the fields on the north side of Jordan Creek Elementary in West Des Moines.
Fall Ball 2026 Registration
Calling all 3rd–12th grade boys and girls—Fall Ball is back!
Whether you're brand new to lacrosse or have been playing for years, Fall Ball is a great opportunity to improve your skills, build confidence, and have fun in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.
Know someone who's been thinking about trying lacrosse? Bring a friend! Fall Ball is the perfect introduction to the sport and a great way for new players to learn the fundamentals before the spring season.
Season Details:
📅 Begins: Tuesday, September 8 (the Tuesday after Labor Day)
📍 Location: Jordan Creek Elementary (fields behind the school)

Registration:
🥍 $150 per player
👕 $20 for a pinnie (if needed)

Fundraising Underway
Our Club is embarking on a fundraising campaign to help with rising costs and to continue to offer scholarship support to families who would struggle financially to participate in the sport. Like most others these days, the Club finds itself facing higher costs in equipment, uniforms, and field rental and tournament fees. This additional funding also helps the Club keep its fees at reasonable levels and helps bring the sport to youth in the West Des Moines Community that otherwise would not be able to afford to play.

Local Fundraising Events
WDM LAX Supports CanPlay Camp
Coaches and players from our club helped run a multi-night camp put on by the CanPlay organization which provides no-cost athletic and youth development opportunities for kids. WDM Lax staff and players worked with 25 boys and girls from the metro on the basic skills of lacrosse. USA Lacrosse also supported the event with an equipment grant given to CanPlay. Thank you to all that participated and supported the worthy event.

West Des Moines Lacrosse Club welcomes and thanks Rock Valley PT for their support of our high school teams on the sideline with trainers during home games.
